About Audrey Kate

Hello! My Name is Audrey Kate, but most people eventually call me AK. Or Junebug, (well, that’s only my Mom😄) hence the name of my little blog here.

I am a teenager with a love for Christ. I wish to glorify Him in all that I am and all that I do. He is my light and my salvation, and He can be, and is, yours, too.

Should I be ashamed to label chocolate as #2?

I am a homeschooled, high schooler. I have always enjoyed the more English and music side of school. I wouldn’t label Math and Science as “faves,” you know?

I am a frequent “redecoranger,” a trait I have been injected with from my Mother, who never has the house in the same style for me than 2 weeks. It’s like an adventure–trying to shove a bed into a strange place and then a table in another–though an interesting, non-storybook version.

We go to a small church around the corner past the field to the right that is two minutes from our house. We still manage to be 2.5-5 minutes late every week, though. q

*sniff*

I love taking pictures with my Canon Rebel T5, and although I haven’t been able to do it as much as I would like lately, I love experimenting with interesting angles and lightings.

I would choose thrift stores and yard sales over any other forms of shopping. From Spring to Autumn, my Mom and I have Fridays and Saturdays set aside for yard sales, and we pretty much go thrifting all year round.

I am the resident grass-mower at our homestead, and I rather enjoy it. Blast some music in my ears and I will chop the ground ’til the cows come home.

I have a Maltipoo named Maisy, who is a very immature almost 5 year old. She’s fluffy, and afraid of thunder storms. She has way to many nicknames. It could fill up a separate post.

My family and I live in a farmhouse we built in a field we overlooked for 10 years of my life. With a joyous response, we accepted the invitation to purchase land from our beloved neighbor and built house. You can read our home and moving journey here.

If you are a frequent reader of my blog, you will see that the majority of my posts are art/bullet journal/pen pal related. Bullet journaling has become one of my favorite ways to be artistic. You can find all of my bullet journaling posts by searching here on my blog “Journaling.”

I am a musician. Instruments and music are one of my favorite things in life, and I’m very grateful to know how to create the music (or at least try).

Piano has been a big part in my life–I think I started when I was 5–and I play every day. My favorite composer is Mozart. His music is so incredibly beautiful. I love playing sonatas and concertos, and I am really into jazz/blues at the moment. I am a teacher to some children on Mondays, and I love it. Seeing people enjoy playing and hearing music is a highlight to the week.

I play violin, guitar and ukulele, too, but the last two are just for fun and self-taught. Violin is a more recent addition.

Letter writing is one of my favorite things, and no, I’m not good at replying on time, but I really love this form of communication. I have met so many of you through writing!

I am also an ASL (American Sign Language) student, and I find this very rewarding. It is fun, and I love communicating in that way with people! ❤

If you would like to check out my photography page, It is here. I have lots of pictures that I like to dump out there.😊

  1. Hey Audrey! I saw that you said you love Georgia – I do, too! 😂💖 Do you live in Georgia? I live just south of Atlanta. It’s always fun to find out other bloggers live in Georgia!

  2. Hi AK!

We have so much in common!! For one, I’ve been homeschooled my whole life too, though, I’m about to graduate next month. It’s bittersweet!! Your blog is beautiful!! Keep it up!!

  3. Hello, AK!

Your blog looks so adorable and you’re a very beautiful young lady! 🙂 We have a lot in common, as well. I used to play the violin, but not anymore. However, I’m going to try to self-teaching myself the piano. Being homeschooled is pretty awesome…even if others think it’s weird. 😀 I can’t wait to see the rest of your content!

  5. I appreciate your love for music. I have wanted to play the cello for some time. It’s a beautiful instrument. Also, your house is beautiful. I’m a huge fan of porches, and your porch is perfect.

  6. Hey! So I want to learn calligraphy and if I ever do, i may use it for pen palling!
Does each state have a rule on the addresses? Like I see bloggers all the time do word art- calligraphy, etc. Do the mail-men take it? Sorry for this confusing question. Have a wonderful December!!!!

    1. Hi! Oh, yay! You definitely should. It is so fun, and I do it everywhere. XD
So, as far as I know from writing letters for awhile, there aren’t super strict rules, just the basics like stamp in the right corner, clear address/return address, but other than that, you are free to make any artistic decisions you want, as long as you don’t glue anything to bulky or heavy, they will make you put on another stamp for that. (:
Hope that helped! Let me know if you start doing anything or posting it on your site, I’ll love to see! ❤

      1. The return address can either be in the top left corner or on the back where you seal the envelope (I have a post coming tomorrow on mail, you can see where I put my return address). I believe you can put it anywhere on the back, but it has to be top left if on the front(:
