Some Recent Letter Art // Pen Pal Post

Letter Art

How are you?

Boy. It’s been awhile since I’ve done a letter/pen pal post.

Today’s The Day!β„’

It’s true, that was a trademark.

Just kidding.

Well, recently, when making envelope art, I’ll stick with the same styles per group of letters. Some group may be flowers, some just lettering. Some highlighted. It just depends. I really love making a whole stack of letters that look similar.

Starting Simple.

I’ve found a go-to when it comes to designing envelopes, for me, is just a simple script. It’s so pretty and old-fashioned and simple. And, it doesn’t take that long. I enjoy doing this in large scale and small, like this one below.

I also love highlighting or outlining the same script. It adds a little pop of “something”, ya know?

Abstract shapes and colors are a great way to add some points of interest in your envelope art. I love throwing circles ore triangles or rectangles ore wonky shapes on envelopes. It’s not hard, and it always looks cool!

Watercolors and Florals.

If you’ve been around here awhile, seen a few of my letter art posts, you’ll know my habits. I always do some sort of florals or watercolor on my envelopes. It doesn’t have to be fancy, little daisies are always cute!

I’ve been painting flowers in vases a lot. So I put one on an envelope, too. XD It’s simple but very pretty. Pairing this with bold or fancy lettering is always fun, too.

This one is similar, except there’s an arm. I have no idea why I drew that. XD

What an abnormally large flower.

Colored envelopes are another way to bring a fun somethin’ into your envelope art.

I went ham with the flowers. Oh dearie me.

I love doing big and bold art with tiny, simple lettering. It’s such a fun envelope to do. Doing something that is simple but maximalist is so fun.

I hope y’all enjoyed a few recent envelopes! Do you like these kinds of posts? Let me know!

  1. Oooh, so cute! I began pen paling last year with a couple of friends I don’t see very often anymore. But just recently, I started getting into envelope art! I follow some blogs that do pen pal posts like this, so I have gotten a bit of inspiration. I’ve come to realize that I enjoy writing people’s name in cursive! My favorite is probably the second one. It’s simple, but cute! I actually just got some ‘special’ highlighters that I plan to use for school, however, maybe I will occasionally use them to outline names on my envelopes. We shall see! πŸ˜€

  2. Awesome post! The envelopes are all so lovely! My favorite is probably the last one… I love the flowers! I also think the lettering on your letter to Bronwyn is SO beautiful! ❀ Yes, I do pen pal (and love it), and my favorite color is Teal. πŸ˜€ My favorite thing about 2020…? That's a hard question, since I both love and hate a lot of things that have happened this year! XD One thing that pops into my head is that I started a bullet journal a couple of months ago, and I'm loving it so much!
Oops, hope you like long comments! ;P πŸ˜€
