April Showers Bring… // May BUJO Setup

mAY iS hERE

Hello!

Oh wait… I must’ve mean’t to write January in the title ’cause it sure don’t feel like May!

It’s crazy to think how fast everything’s going. Wow. Even in quarantine, I feel almost as busy as before, even without going places. It’s been nice to get to do things I’ve wanted to do or needed to do. I’ve been able to paint a lot, I finished changing up my room, cleaned a lot, I’ve written new music, it’s been nice.

Whilst we’ve been doing school during the day (while my Mom reads aloud) I’ve been working on my May bullet journal setup.

I’ve been wanting to try watercolors in my bujo for awhile, so I figured I’d give it a go this month. I’m pretty happy with it, I love all the colors and the dainty floral.

To the left, I started out the month with a quote, “the earth laughs in flowers” and I put various florals beneath. To the right I have the first page of the month, which states the month and is surrounded by flowers.

My next two pages are the calendar for the month. My April calendar (see here) was left quite blank, since there was no event in April, but I thought I’d do one for May, just in case. (:

I wrote “May” again, and I did a border of flowers around the calendar. If you remember August, I did the same calendar layout there. I needed a bit more color, so I did a little dollop of color where the day’s number goes

This left page is my goals and to do’s for the month. I needed a bit more color so I… you know… completely filled in the rectangles with completely random colors in my watercolor pan. *slightly convincing grin* XD

My next page is my habit trackers. For this month I am trying to build the habit of 5+ bottles water, daily bible reading, practice all the instruments, and walk/run daily. Do you have any habits to build this upcoming month?

My first weekly log is fairly simple, the first square says it’s “the first week of May” and flowers. I went and drew in the other squares and I colored in the 0’s with different colors.

The next page is my Spring100 mile tracker. I surrounded this with flowers and incased it in black.

The next page is a quote, another “flowery” one. XD

“Bloom where you are planted”

The next weekly log is a loopy layout, pretty easy, too! I put the date in a circle with flowers inside. Underneath “notes” I decided to add a few more flowers. Better get as many as I can in there, ya know?

Hehe, I took a picture whilst I was photographing this setup. I had to squat to take the photos, so it was a funny photography setup. XD

My next page is for blog post ideas. Do you have any for me? I’d love to know!

The next one is my letter tracker. The “stamp” (which is a box I check if I’ve sent a reply) I painted different colors along both of the pages on the bottom.

I wanted to be a bit more conservative for the third weekly log, so I am trying putting the whole week on one page. Hopefully it’ll work, small writing must get to work! On the left of the day I have a flower, on the right, the date.

The right page is a.. window. Hehe! Quite random, but fun!

I squished the rest of the month (10 days) onto two pages. I did lines of color, with words appearing to be behind that, and on the color I wrote the same, though in cursive. This is my happy page. I like how vibrant the colors came out for this weekly log a lot. On the bottom of the right page, I did “end of the month to-do’s” and flowers.

These pages are some of my favorite. I got excited about Summery colors, so I went ham. XD

This is my “Summer Goals” pages, and the category I chose are Blog, Bible (as in scripture memorization, daily readings/plans, etc), Art, and Other (like baking, cooking, cleaning, etc). This can be stretched over many pages or turned into multiple columns. You might like to use this, even if you don’t bujo. I find that setting goals for myself helps me be more productive, especially if it’s in a time (like Summer) where you have more time on your hands. (:

Normally, in the beginning of the year I make an address page, but I realize that I hadn’t yet, so I did! I used thin washi tape as a border between the different addresses. At the top I used a banner (see my banner post here), and I made it  rather loopy to opposite the straight lines.

I hope y’all enjoyed this month’s setup! I can NOT believe May is almost here. What are your May’s typically like? Anything to look forward to?

Have a wonderful rest of your day!

  1. I don’t have a bujo. Yours is very pretty! My favorite part about April is: I was missing my youth group, so I came up with the idea to make a newspaper written by the youth group for the youth group. I almost have all the articles in and I’m going to send it out in early May! I can’t wait to see the finished product. (sorry about the bad grammar when I said “about April is: I was missing…” It doesn’t go very well together, but I don’t know how to say it any other way.😊 Quarantine is good. I want to go out and see my family and friends. I’m ready to be out of the house.🙂 I don’t really know what I’m looking forward to about May. Sorry about this being a long comment. I hope you have a wonderful week!

    1. Thank you so much, Abigail! I actually used Koi watercolors and a Princeton paint brush, but I used a Tombow Fudenosuke soft tip brush pen for the writing(:

  3. lol i read this in my inbox and then switched to the sight and had a happy moment because the pictures were so much bigger and better :’D Another gorgeous theme! I love all the weekly spreads and pops of color. Quarantine has been as good as can be expected! A bit lonely and boring, but okay. It’s been fun sending and receiving extra snail mail while everyone’s stuck inside.

    1. Hehe, I’m glad you liked it!
I know, it can be a tad bit slow during the day, but I’m glad it hasn’t been too bad for you! Yes! I feel like mail turnaround is quicker while people have more time on their hands. XD

    1. Thank you, Laura! I am using the Tukukor A5 Bullet Journal in navy (Amazon). I was wanting an Archer and Olive journal, and so this one was kind of a dupe for that brand(: It held up to the small amounts of water from the flowers, but when it went to straight washes (like the summer goals page) it buckled a bit, but not too bad(:

      1. I would so love an Archer and Olive journal but just can’t afford one. Glad your journal faired okay with the watercolour. I’ve just ordered a Leuchtturm as my next BuJo but the paper is thinner than the Scribbles That Matter which I’m currently using.

      2. Aren’t they pretty? But yes, quite pricey.
I’ve never tried a Leuchtturm journal, but I’ve heard good things about them!

  4. AK, those flowers are SO pretty!!! 😍 Oh my goodness! I really need to get into watercolor painting. I know, I still cannot believe that it’s almost May! The year is flying by fast! Blog post idea: Step-by-step process of how you watercolor paint (maybe specifically flowers!).

    1. Thank you so much, Heaven! The year IS flying, way too fast in my opinion. I mean, where has the quarter of the year gone??
Ooh, ohh! I like that idea! Thanks muchly (:

      Have a lovely day!
