And today is the Grand Finale! The Eve of Christmas day!
I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas!
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, he is the Messiah; the Lord. This will be a sign to you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger. Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God saying: Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those whom he is pleased.”
HO! HO! HO!
Are you doing well?
I hope you are! *hug*
Y’all know how much I love art, and everything that goes with it, (brush lettering, letter art, drawings …) so today I’m posting, for “Christmas Countdown”, some of the things I’ve done in the art category(:
I actually did a post like this last year, and if you would like to see it, click here.
(Warning: I believe my art work and lettering have come a tiny way since last year…😜)
Well, there’s a little bit of my art!
I hope you enjoyed. Come back on Monday!
3 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS! (←Whoa! What?!)
Can you believe there’s only 4 days until Christmas?? Whoa.
Well, today I was thinking I’d do Presents as my topic. Most people get a present or two around Christmas time!
Here are the questions!
Do you open a Present on Christmas Eve?
We do, if we remember(:
How do you open presents? Does everyone take turns, or does everybody open all at once?
We start out taking turns, but we end up opening all at the same time(:
Do you give presents to your whole family from you, or do you only give to certain people, or do you do a Secret Santa?
We all give to each other, but when we get with a lot of family we give to certain folks(:
Let me know what you do! I’d love to hear!
Come back tomorrow!
4 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!
Oh. Oh, Dear me, one…two..three..fo…..FIVE DAYS? Five Days until CHRISTMAS??
How did we get here so fast? Are you excited? I am!
Today I chose “Christmas books” as the topic. Reading books at Christmas time is always something we’ve done since my brother and I were really little.
Here are ten of our favorites:
“The Year of the perfect Christmas Tree” ~ Gloria Houston (Such a sweet book!)
“Emmet Otter’s Jug-band Christmas” ~ Russel Hoban (We love this one!)
“Mr. Willowby’s Christmas Tree” ~ Robert Barry (A classic, happily ending story😊)
“Silver Packages” ~ Cynthia Rylant (A good story and a great writer)
“The Letter On the Tree” ~ Natalie Savage Carlson (We always enjoy this one)
“The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey” ~ Susan Wojciechowski *please don’t ask me to pronounce that* 😂 (We’ve read this every year since I was a baby)
Stephen’s Feast ~ Jean Richardson (This always makes me want to sing the song)
“The Church Mice at Christmas” ~ Graham Oakley (One of my Mom’s favorites)
“A Little House Christmas” ~ Laura Ingalls Wilder (Sweet Stories)
What Christmas books do you like? Do you have any recommendations?
FIVE DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!
Today for “Christmas Countdown” the topic is going to be…..
We always, for probably most of my life, Have gone out Thanksgiving night and go a little way down the road and purchase a 7-8 foot Christmas tree. (It’s and 8-9 footer at this house, but at our old house we had to get a 7 foot tree!) We come home and pull all of our Christmas Decorations out of the attic. Ornaments, Garland, Lights, wreaths, Bows, Small trees, and anything else that might be stashed up there(:
This year we also went to Hobby Lobby while they had their Christmas sale and picked up some extra garland and a star and some red ornaments(:
We went with a simple tree this year, using the red ornaments and star, and we decorated the faux tree with our regular ornaments.
How do you decorate your house? What kind of decorations do you have? Do you LOVE Hobby Lobby? (:
Come back soon! (or tomorrow!)
6 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!
Oh! I’m glad you’re here today!
How are you?
Today I am going to revisit Christmas Cookies, Because, I mean, who can ever have to many Christmas cookies! (and, I really didn’t do all of my favorites justice😂)
So, when I last posted on this subject was ten days ago. (on the 8th) Not to early to talk about it again!
Last year we made a lot of different kinds. A few include:
Be sure to check those out! (and save one for me!😄)
Some that we’re planning on baking this year are:
Yum! I can’t wait to make all of those!
What kind of cookies do you like? Do you make cookies?
Come back tomorrow!
ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS! 🌲🤯
Today I chose weather as the topic for “Christmas Countdown” (:
A little bit of an odd one, but I though I’d give it a whirl!
Here where we live in Georgia, the weather on Christmas day is quite unpredictable.
I can only remember one white Christmas, and I think that was about nine or ten years ago! We usually get at least one snow a year, (maybe two, if we’re lucky) but we haven’t had a white Christmas in quite some years.
In 2016 we had 80° weather here! I remember that, because my Mom, for Christmas, had got me a plaid flannel shirt that I was eager to wear, but when we all went outside, since it was so sunny and warm, I had to go back inside twice to change into something that would be cooler! (I have pictures; I ended up with a tank top and shorts!)
But most years it’s just been cold, maybe sunny, and snowless): But that’s okay, because if we don’t have snow before Christmas, we usually get some after. (:
What Is your weather like where you live at Christmas? Do you get snow? Is it Hot?
Come back tomorrow!
8 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS! (wait, what?! 8 days?)
Well, Hello! And a Warm, Christmasy welcome to you, too!
Today for Christmas Countdown the topic I chose is……. Christmas Fun Facts!
NO. 1: Christmas was first declared a united states holiday in 1870
NO. 2: The Traditional American Christmas Dinner Consists of: Turkey with stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Cranberry sauce, Carrots, Turnip, Parsnips, (and others) Pumpkin Pie, Apple Pie, Raisin Pudding, Christmas Pudding, and Fruit Cake. (Interesting!)
NO. 3: The most common Christmas traditions are: Mince pies, Stockings, Holly and Ivy, Christmas Crackers, and Turkey(:
I hope you enjoyed this one!
What Fun Fact was your favorite? Do you do any of those things?
Come back on Monday!
10 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS!
